Solemnly celebrated patron of the parish

On the feast of the Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary, September 8th, the parish of Bežlja near Teslić solemnly celebrated its patron saint.

On that occasion, the Holy Mass was led by the treasurer of the Vrhbosna Archdiocese, rev. Vladimir Pranjić. He was accompanied by nine priests, among whom was the parish priest, rev. Ivan Karača and the dean of the Usora deanery and parish priest and guardian of the sanctuary in Komušina rev. Boris Salapić.

In the appropriate sermon rev. Pranjić pointed out that “we live in a time of speed, which has become a sign of our time”. “It all started with Adam. He wanted to grow up right away, moreover outgrow himself and be as great as God. The same desire accompanies his descendants and all genealogies”, said the economist Vladimir and added that the birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary introduces a person to another perspective of the same longing - to be great, but with God. “Therefore, we ask Our Lady to help us rediscover the beauty and greatness of our relationship with God and, like her, to build our lives on God, which will then be the salt of the earth and the light of the world in today’s time and space where we live”, said rev. Pranjić.

The celebration of the Holy Mass gathered about 1 000 believers, who are mostly living scattered around the world.
