With a Holy Mass that was led by the Apostolic Nuncio to BiH, Archbishop Msgr. Luigi Pezzuto, on January 31st, 109th anniversary of the founding of the parish in Skopaljska Gračanica was celebrated.
Before the beginning of the Holy Mass, rev. Ilija Ivoš greeted the gathered believers who filled the parish church. He encouraged those present to pray for the Homeland of BiH and all its people.
In his sermon, among other things, the Apostolic nuncio emphasized, that the Croatian people had undergone many temptations and sufferings, and indicated that the temptations and sufferings should be understood and experienced in the light of the Passion of the Lord Jesus.
There were numerous parishioners at the Holy Mass celebration, living in the area of Skopaljska Gračanica, as well as those who gladly and often come from abroad to their homeland.
After the Holy Mass, the party continued in the parish hall with dinner and greetings. The parish of Skopaljska Gračanica, dedicated to the Heart of Mary, is located halfway between Uskoplje-Gornji Vakuf and Bugojno. It has become a symbol of the return, survival and stay of Croat Catholics in Central Bosnia in the upper flow of the Vrbas river.
