The Human Fraternity Foundation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is guided by the principles of the Charter on Human Fraternity signed by Pope Francis and Grand Imam Ahmed Al-Tajjib in 2019, organized a round table in Novi Travnik on March 4th.
The following participated: Msgr. Franjo Topić, president of the Foundation, Msgr. Mato Zovkić, retired professor at the KBF in Sarajevo, Dr. Nedžad Grabus, Mufti of Sarajevo, rev. Anto Ledić, parish priest from Novi Travnik, and Mirnes Kovač, journalist.
The round table was opened by Dr. Topić by reading the opening words of the Charter on Human Fraternity, emphasizing that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a "privileged place for ecumenism and dialogue". Prof. Zovkić spoke about Pope Francis' encyclical Fratelli tutti, while Dr. Grabus pointed out that "human brotherhood is a project that unites us in the search for peace and accepts differences as a gift from God". Rev. Anto spoke about the apostolic journeys of the last three popes, which were also interreligious. In the end, Mr. Kovač presented the book One book for peace (Jedna knjiga za mir), which presents teachings from the Qur'an and the Bible on ten given topics in one place.
By the way, those present visited Margetići near Novi Travnik, where the construction of the chapel of St. John Paul II is ongoing. There will be a hall in its crypt, and everything together will make up the Human Brotherhood Centre.
