St. Joseph the worker was celebrated

The small religious community of St. Joseph the Worker in Pale near Sarajevo solemnly celebrated its heavenly patron on May 1st.

The Eucharist in the wooden parish church, which survived two world wars and the last war, was led by the economist of the Vrhbosna Archdiocese, rev. Vladimir Pranjić, with the concelebration of the parish priest and director of the Priest’s Home of the VN in Sarajevo, rev. Fabijan Stanušić and 11 other priests.

In the appropriate sermon, the economist Vladimir, among other things, pointed out that St. Joseph could be described as one who chose to be in the service of God through his actions, and encouraged believers to be responsible, like this “guardian of God”, in carrying out God’s mission, even when they cannot understand everything. He also raised awareness of the importance of growth in faith and education for prayer. “A man who is in prayer and contemplation, open to the Holy Spirit, can just like St. Joseph accept the mysteries which sound incredible to us. It is important to be educated for prayer”, said the parish priest Pranjić. The liturgical celebration, according to tradition, was animated by the cathedral mixed choir Josip Stadler under the direction of Rev. Marko Stanušić.

The Holy Mass was attended by about 70 believers who, after the Eucharist, stayed to socialize in a beautiful mountain atmosphere.
