29th anniversary of the founding of the HVO brigade "Jastrebovi"

On Wednesday, January 18th, the 29th anniversary of the founding of the 3rd Guards Motorized Brigade of the HVO "Jastrebovi" (Hawks) was marked at the "Mato Lučić Maturica" barracks in Kiseljak.

The program began with the reception of guests and the laying of wreaths in front of the memorial in the barracks.

This was followed by a Holy Mass in the barracks chapel led by the Metropolitan Archbishop of Vrhbosna and the Apostolic Administrator of the Military Ordinariate in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Msgr. Tomo Vukšić in the concelebration of seven priests, among whom was the chancellor of the Military Ordinariate in Bosnia and Herzegovina, rev. Josip Tadić, parish priest in Goražde and military chaplain in this barracks, rev. Ljubo Zelenika, parish priest in Haljinići.

At the beginning, those present were greeted and welcomed by rev. Zelenika, and then the archbishop began the Holy Mass celebration, which was animated by harmonious singing by the choir of St. Martin, under the leadership of Veronika Matošević.

After the Holy Mass, a formal academy and a reception were held.

Let us mention that the barracks in Kiseljak are named after Mato Lučić Maturica, who made a great contribution to the organization of the defence of Central Bosnia and the organization of HVO units. He was killed in May 1993 in the action of reconnaissance and formation of battlefield lines.
