On Sunday, September 26th, in the parish of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Tolisa, in Bosanska Posavina, the 55th World Day of Social Communications at the level of BK BiH was celebrated with a Holy Mass.
The Eucharist was led by the Archbishop Coadjutor of Vrhbosna, and President of the Council for Social Media of the BK BiH, Msgr. Tomo Vukšić. In addition to the parish priest of Tolisa, OFM Mario Jurić, the concelebration was attended by, among others, members of the Media Council of BK BiH: directors of Naša ognjišta OFM Gabrijel Mioč and Radio Marija BiH father Mato Anić, and general secretary of BK BiH and editor in chief of KTA, msgr. Ivo Tomašević.

At the beginning of the sermon, Archbishop Vukšić reminded that, in accordance with the decision of the BK BiH, the World Day of Social Communications in BiH is held every year on the last Sunday of September. He further explained that every year the Roman bishops send special messages on this occasion. He pointed out that this year Pope Francis addressed the public with the phrase “Come and see”, which were the words that Jesus’ disciple Philip said to Nathanael after he expressed doubts that something good could come from Nazareth at all. Msgr. Vukšić pointed out that that is why the subtitle of the Pope’s message is: Communicate by meeting people where they are and what they are like.
“This is the way the Christian faith is transmitted from its very beginning. It is spread through personal experience in encountering the holy and authentic testimony of Christians much more and more effectively than words”, said Archbishop Tomo who especially pointed out the thought of the Holy Father that thanks to the courage of journalists, there is reporting that is realistic and truthful image of reality from the marginalised areas. At the end of the sermon, he warned that there is a danger on the media scene and the appearance of empty eloquence that is not accompanied by deeds and fruits.

The Holy Mass was animated by the parish choir Mirijam under the direction of sister M. Kata Mlakić.
The Holy Mass was broadcasted live by many media, including: Posavska Televzija, Radio Marija BiH and Radio Orašje; and was covered by RTV Herceg-Bosna and KTA, which this year technically edited the appropriate materials for Media Day.
