Mass was lead by the parish priest of the parish of Vitez, OFM Velimir Bavrka. Among the 500 attendees who gathered for the memory of the victims were relatives, friends, fellow soldiers and representatives of associations that came out from the Homeland War, as well as representatives of the authorities.
 
OFM Velimir, in his sermon recalled the tragic events of January 1994., for which no one is held responsible, expressing concern over the slowness of institutions that still did not prosecute the responsible ones. He said that the people there were in pain and called all the responsible institutions to start the research processes. He called on Croatian representatives to raise their voice in order to find the truth about Buhine Kuće. He also called those who are silent about the evil to say the truth.
 
"We shall see light, but we must believe in God, keep God, turn to him. Also, we must look for a way for God to illuminate the dark side of the past", OFM Velimir said, stressing that one should not take revenge, but a judgment  should be made, as well as a call for responsibility, re-examination and remorse.
 
Let us remind, in the nine-month defense of the fully surrounded and constantly attacked valley of Lašva, by the BiH Army, January 9th 1994, was one of the toughest days. On January 9th, under the wings of foggy night, members of the elite units of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina attacked Buhine Kuće, a suburb of Vitez, and slaughtered soldiers and civilians.
 
Among the 36 killed soldiers and civilians there were also nine members of PPN "Munje", members of the HVO Travnik, and dozens of houses and business objects were robbed and burned. For this crime, up to today, nobody is held responsible in the eyes of law and no investigation has been launched.
