Anniversary of the 101 Bosanskobrodska brigade of the HVO

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the founding of the 101 Bosanskobrodska Brigade of the HVO, the surviving veterans and the people of Bosanska Posavina, remembered in their prayers on March 3rd their 426 killed and missing veterans.

In the parish church of St. Elijah the Prophet in Bosanski Brod, the Holy Mass of Remembrance for the killed, missing and deceased defenders of the first unit in BiH, which offered active resistance to the then enemy, was led by the parish priest rev. Antonio Čutura, and was concelebrated by the parish priest of Derventa, rev. Marko Slišković.

Emphasizing in the homily that in the light of Christ's resurrection, which gives meaning to every event, Christians profess their faith, but also the hope that they will also be resurrected, pastor Čutura said that it makes sense to lay wreaths and pray in cemeteries.

By the way, organized by members of the Association of Volunteers and Veterans of the 101 Bosanskobrodska brigade, the program began in the morning with the lighting of candles and the laying of wreaths in local cemeteries. Al-Fatihah was said at the cemetery in Gornje Kolibe.

As most of the fallen veterans were buried in Slavonski Brod, the second part of the program continued in the afternoon in that city by laying wreaths and lighting candles at the central cross in the City Cemetery. The prayer was led by the permanent deacon of the Vrhbosna Archdiocese, rev. Robert Čabraja.
