The celebration of the 29th anniversary of the suffering and persecution of Travnik Croats began on June 8th with a Holy Mass at the memorial in Bikoše, in the settlement of Maljine. The Eucharist was ledr by OFM Fabio Badrov, with concelebration by OFM Velimir Valjan.
Holy Mass of Remembrance was also served in the parish church in Brajkovići. Although, as in previous years, it was supposed to be at the Ovnak memorial, due to bad weather it was served in the church. The Eucharist was led by the parish priest of the Dolac religious community, OFM Zoran Livančić, with the concelebration of the parish priest, OFM Krešimir Vukadin. Just before the storm, flowers were laid at the Ovnak memorial, where about 100 participants from the Nova Bila (war hospital) march arrived.
The celebration ended with a Holy Mass at the central memorial in Prahulje, led by OFM Fabio with the concelebration of the parish priest of the religious community of Nova Bila, OFM Slavko Petrušić.
It should be reminded that on June 8th, 1993, the BiH Army launched an attack on Croatian territory. In just a few days, 137 Croatian civilians and veterans were brutally killed. 37 of them were captured in the villages of Bikoši and Manjine, and then shot. By the end of the war, 19 600 Croats had been forced to move from the Travnik municipality.
