Anniversary of the suffering of the servant of God OFM Lovro Milanović

On February 3rd, the believers of Bosanska Posavina gathered in the church of St. John the Baptist in Donja Tramošnica, for a Holy Mass to once again mark the date of the suffering of the Servant of God OFM Lovro Milanović.

The Eucharist was led by the Vicar General of the Diocese of Gospić-Senj, Msgr. Marinko Miličević, a local son. About 20 priests concelebrated, among whom were the parish priest OFM Joso Oršolić and the acting Dean of the Dobor Deanery and the parish priest in Odžak rev. Ilija Orkić.

In the sermon, among others, Msgr. Marinko emphasized that the faithful should take refuge to Mother Mary from their difficulties. He said that everyone is called to holiness and the realization that “we are in God's hands”.

During the Holy Mass, the intercession of St. Blaise and OFM Lovro was prayed for God to free and save people from coronavirus, throat diseases and every other evil. Also included in the prayer intentions is the former dean of the Dobor deanery, rev. Jakov Filpović, who is in serious health condition in Croatia.

The Eucharistic celebration was animated by the choir Mirjam from the parish of Tolisa, under the direction of sister Kata Mlakić.

The parishioners prepared for the anniversary with a triduum.

Let us remind you, OFM Lovro, born in 1777, was the parish priest in Tramošnica. He was martyred on February 3rd, 1807, when he refused to pay bow to Mujo Arnaut, who was passing by.
