Annual Meeting of Friends of Little Jesus

The Society of Friends of the Little Jesus of Sarajevo Province every year organizes its annual meetings in one of the parishes in the area of Vrhbosna Archdiocese. Their XXI. meeting was held on March 23rd in the parish of Prisoje in the Duvno Deanery in Mostar-Duvno Diocese.

About 300 members of the Society gathered from eight parishes in which the Sisters Servants of the Little Jesus act (Gromiljak, Livno, Neum, Prozor, Vitez, Voždovac and Zavidovići, and Prisoje even though the sisters don’t act here). In concelebration with the Bishop Msgr. Ratko Perić there were 10 priests from all BiH dioceses.

The welcoming words were said by rev. Ivan Bebek and sister Anđelina, senior adviser from Zagreb.

Liturgical singing was led by the choirs of the Prisoje Parish, the little – children’s choir Ancora and the big mixed choir Regina Coeli.

At the end of the Mass Celebration sister Danica Bilić, head of the Committee of the Society in the Sarajevo Province from Neum, invited new members, about 15 of them, to approach the altar and announce their promises to become full members of the Society. The bishop blessed their statutes, the medals of the servant of God, Josip Stadler, and the Rosary of the Little Jesus, which were given to them on that occasion.

After refreshments, followed the second part of the communion. First in the parish church, several choirs from various parishes sang the songs of spiritual content, and then an exhibition at the sports hall Stjepan Radić, on the life and work of the servant of God Josip Stadler was opened, who, being left without parents, had thorough feelings for the poor people throughout his life. With that intention he founded in Sarajevo the Society of Sisters Servants of Little Jesus in 1890,. who now operate in three provinces, Sarajevo, Split and Zagreb.
