Annunciation is the announcement of God coming among people

On the Feast of the Annunciation, March 25th, in Sarajevo, the patron of the Vrhbosna Theological Seminary (VBS) was celebrated with a solemn Eucharist, and services were given to the theologians.

The Holy Mass was led by the Metropolitan Archbishop of Vrhbosna, Msgr. Tomo Vukšić in concelebration with: rector of VBS Dr. rev. Zdenko Spajić, priest of the seminary Dr. Rev. Milenko Krešić, economist Rev. Josip Papak and several professors from the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Sarajevo.

In an appropriate homily, Archbishop Vukšić talked about the news that is changing at a high speed today and how it is difficult to follow them and distinguish whether they are true or false. "Usually those with tragic content or scandals prevail. It's as if there is a human tendency and need for such news and, as media experts say, they are the most 'sold'", said the archbishop and pointed out that "in contrast, today the Church celebrates a different kind of news, a light news". "Good God is coming! He comes to be with people. God with us! And he wants people to be with him. That is the content of today's day. This is the news that Christianity preaches and testifies to”, said Msgr. Vukšić, emphasizing the importance of listening because Mary's obedience led to the physical birth of the Savior. Then he addressed the candidates for the diaconate and presbyterate, saying that they express their desire to become messengers and witnesses of the good God and to spread the good news of salvation, peace, and friendship to the world.

During the Eucharist, the archbishop distributed services to the theologians. Thus, Marko Ljubić (5th

year of KBF) and Marin Petrović (4th year of KBF) received the service of lector, while Zoran Miličević (3rd year of KBF) was accepted among the candidates of the Archdiocese of Vrhbosna for the diaconate and presbyterate.

The liturgical singing was animated by the theological choir Stjepan Hadrović.

The Annunciation or the Annunciation of the Lord is a feast in memory of the event when the Archangel Gabriel announced to the Blesswed Virgin Mary that she would conceive by the Holy Spirit. It is celebrated exactly nine months before Christmas.
