On the premises of the Parish of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Sarajevo settlement of Stup, on November 15th, autumn corona of the Sarajevo Deanery was held. The meeting, which began with the Holy Mass at the shrine of Our Lady of Stup, was attended by 13 priests.
Mass was presided over by Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Vrhbosna, Msgr. Slađan Ćosić, and those present were initially greeted by the parish priest rev. Miroslav Ćavar.
Holy Mass was followed by a working part of the meeting at the Pastoral Center of the Parish of Stup, moderated by the Dean of the Sarajevo Dean's Office, venerable Mato Majić. The Vicar General, Ćosić, gave a short lecture in which he spoke about several meetings at the archdiocese level. He recalled that one of the aspects of the deanery's activity was to care for the sick brothers and their replacement until they were able to perform their ministry.
Then the canon of Vrhbosna, Msgr. Ante Meštrović gave an overview of the canonical visits in May and June 2019. He presented information that says that the Sarajevo Deanery consists of 13 parishes with 9 284 believers and 8 827 Catholics in Sarajevo itself. There are about 80% of pensioners; the number of children is 271 and that of youth 369. There were 52 baptisms, 252 Catholic burials, 66 first communion receivers, 13 married.
Finally, there was a discussion about organizing major confessions at the deanery’s level and the priesthood fellowship when it came to celebrating patrons of the parishes.
