Bishop Vukšić led the Midnight Mass in Briješće

BiH's military bishop rev. Tomo Vukšić led the Midnight Mass in the parish of St. Leopold Mandić in the Sarajevo settlement of Briješće. The church was filled to the last place by the believers of the smallest parish in Sarajevo.

The bishop based his homily on the biblical words of the prophet Isaiah: “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be upon His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counsellor.”(Isaiah 9: 5). From there, he pointed out that the progressive civilization of the West was increasingly showing signs of closure to life, and said that without new births there would be no real joy in society. He then placed his focus on the Second Person of the Holy Trinity - Jesus Christ, who, through his birth in Bethlehem, entered human history, whereby “the people who walked in the darkness saw great light”.

At the end of the Holy Mass, animated by mo. Dario Vučić, parish priest rev. Josip Vajdner, editor of Katolički tjednik, greeted those present and thanked the military bishop and invited everyone to the traditional Christmas greetings in the parish yard with mulled wine and in the parish hall with a snack prepared by the parishioners.

Let us mention that Bishop Vukšić in Briješće also led a aHoly Mass at the Feast of the Birth of the Lord.
