Blessing of drivers and vehicles in Bakići

The ancient church of St. Roch (Rocco) in Bakići near Olovo gathered believers-drivers and those who came with their prayers to ask for a blessing for their loved ones who are engaged in transportation.

The Holy Mass was led by OFM Franjo Baraban, monastery and parish vicar in Tuzla, with the concelebration of the manager of the shrine of Our Lady of Olovo, OFM Ilija Božić.

In his homily, OFM Francis said that one of the fundamental qualities of man is that he is a being of relationship. “Being a relationship man means interacting with other people. With our history of life we mark the history of the other, making it our history (...) We are in a place that testifies to one such history”, he said and encouraged those present to “face the challenges and tasks of the times we live in, to accept our obligations, burdens and responsibilities to keep our histories and our Christian identity alive for future generations”.

The celebration of the Holy Mass gathered about 150 believers who were blessed at the end of the Eucharist, in order to drive more responsibly with God's blessing and thus protect themselves and others on their journeys.

Believers then socialized in untouched nature.
