On the Sunday of Divine Mercy, April 11th, the Chapel of the Merciful Jesus in Makljenovac, a village belonging to the parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Doboj, was blessed.
The Holy Mass was led and the chapel and altar were blessed by the delegate of the Archbishop of Vrhbosna, cardinal Vinko Puljić, canon of Vrhbosna and archdeacon of Plehan, Msgr. Bosiljko Rajić, in concelebration with the parish priest mr. Rev. Jure Babić.
Several dozen believers were present at the Eucharist, and after the Holy Mass, a modest gathering was organized by the people of Makljenovac.
By the way, the faithful prepared for this event spiritually for three days. On the first and second day, Holy Mass was celebrated in the chapel, and on the third day, April 10th, it was celebrated on the hill Grič, to which the locals are traditionally connected.
Interestingly, the parish of Doboj has two branches, Gračanica and Makljenovac, which is the most vital and most numerous part of the religious community, and as a liturgical space, a chapel leaning against the house owned by the parish, is used. This house was built in the period after the war at the time of Rev. Jozo Kudić when it was impossible to return to Doboj. The community of believers in Makljenovac, located in the Federation of BiH, has about 150 souls.
