Blessing of the chapel in the convent of the Sisters of the Merciful Jesus

In the afternoon hours of November 4th, in the monastery of the Sisters of the Merciful Jesus, near the parish church of the Ascension of the Lord in Novi Travnik, the Chancellor of the Vrhbosna Archdiocese, venerable Mladen Kalfić blessed the monastery chapel.

Along with two sisters from Poland, who are pastorally working in the parish, the parish priest rev.  Marko Majstorović, parish vicar rev. Marcel Tunjić and the head of the Public Relations Office and the spokesman of the Vrhbosna Archdiocese, rev. Dražen Kustura, were also present.

In his speech, venerable Kalfić said that the chapel is the centre of life because the living Christ lives there. “He is our God, our comfort and strength. Without him, we are nothing. All our action should begin here on our knees in humility and obedience before the Most Holy in contemplation. Only sincere contemplation gives birth to healthy action”, said, among other things, the Chancellor of the Vrhbosna archdiocese and thanked the two sisters from Poland for their courage and arrival to Bosnia and Herzegovina, where they began their pastoral work in August this year.

The blessing was preceded by a votive Holy Mass to Our Lady of Prompt Succor, which is celebrated every Wednesday in the parish, and which was led by rev. Kustura.
