The Plehan Guardian, OFM Anto Tomas, blessed on August 28th in the branch church of St. Nikola Tavelić in Modran (Plehan Parish) in Bosanska Posavina, the restored Stations of the Way of the Cross made 118 years ago.
After the blessing ceremony of the stations, the devotion of the Way of the Cross followed, which was prayed by the monastery vicar, OFM Jozo Gogić, and Holy Mass was led by the Guardian OFM Anto.
The Stations of the Way of the Cross were ordered by the Franciscans in October 1901. in Rome from the painter Benedetto Giove. They were made in the oleographic technique. They were blessed on December 8th 1902. and placed in the former church of St. Mark on Plehan. Due to the artistic arrangement of the Plehan church, they were removed in 1980. and stored in the monastery library, where they remained until 1992., when with the fall of Bosanska Posavina, they had to go into exile with other works of art and believers. Upon their return, the Franciscans returned most of the works of art, including the Stations of the Way of the Cross, except for two that disappeared in the whirlwind of war. In agreement with the Committee for the Construction of the Church in Modran, the Guardian OFM Anto and the Vicar OFM Jozo commissioned the painter Ante Mamuša from Novi Travnik in May this year to build two new stations that were missing: the seventh and thirteenth, which were blessed with others.
