The Archbishop of Vrhbosna, Cardinal Vinko Puljić, on December 11th, sent a congratulatory message to the president of the Jewish community in BiH, Jakob Finci, for the holiday of Hanukkah.
“On behalf of the Catholic Church in BiH, as well as on my own behalf, I would like to send to you personally and to all members of the Jewish community in our country the most sincere congratulations for the eight-day celebration of Hanukkah. As you remember with this holiday, the ‘miracle of oil’ and the candlestick that illuminated the beautiful Jerusalem Temple for eight days as a sign of gratitude to God for deliverance and freedom, I want this light to burn, not only in your homes and gatherings, but in the hearts of every member of your community, and the living word of God to live and for all give their contribution in glorifying God and building mutual communion and communion among all people in the nations of this country”, wrote the Archbishop of Vrhbosna and wished that “this light be united with every other light that comes from God to dispel the darkness of sin and evil in this land and enable all to know God's love and goodness, and especially young people to see their future here”.
