In addition to the concelebration of the seven priests and the service of two deacons at the altar, a number of believers gathered at the Eucharistic celebration, among them were nuns and theologians of the Theological Seminary of Vrhbosna.

“Cleansing our conscience from sin, cleansing our intentions to be benevolent, cleansing from our habits because often addictions occur”, the archbishop said in his sermon, encouraging those present to pray, do acts of mercy and fast throughout Lent.

He then blessed the ashes and followed the ritual of ashing.
