Cardinal Puljić appointed three seminarians in the service of acolytes

Archbishop of Vrhbosna, cardinal Vinko Puljić with the concelebration of five priests at the Eucharistic celebration, at the feast of the Ascension of the Lord on May 30th, in the church of St. Mother Theresa in Vogošća, appointed three seminarians in the service of acolytes.

The Acolyte Service was received by the three theology students of the International Archdiocese’s missionary seminary Redemptoris Mater: Dino Mustafi (Zadar, Croatia), Jesus Antonio Gazquez Hernadez (Murcia, Spain) and Juan Ignacio Arellan (Los Angeles, USA).

At the beginning of the Mass celebration, the rector of the Seminary, Dr. rev. Michele Capasso, welcomed the concelebrating priests: Msgr. Henryk Jagodzynski, secretary of the Apostolic Nuncio in BiH; Msgr. Dr. Pavo Jurišić; dr. venerable Josip Knežević, rector of the Vrhbosna Theological Seminary and rev. Albert Zornad, parish priest in Vogošća. He also welcomed the brothers from neocatechumenal communities from Sarajevo and Vogošća and the ad gentes missions who attended this Eucharistic celebration. “My wish is to meet Christ the Lord in every liturgy”, said rev. Capasso. He added that this is an important event for three seminarians because it represents the last stage before their ordination.

After the homily, cardinal Puljić appointed the three seminarians to the service of acolytes.

At the end of the Mass celebration, he also handed out the diplomas to the new acolytes and congratulated them.

The celebration continued with a dinner at the seminary building where the seminarians performed a commemorative music program.
