Before the holiday of St. Joseph, on March 18th, in the parish of St. Joseph in Rankovići, the Archbishop of Vrhbosna cardinal Vinko Puljić consecrated the altar in the parish church.
The holy mass ahead of the patron saint day, with the consecration of the altar was led by cardinal Puljić with the concelebration of the local parish priest rev. Miljenko Džalto and six other priests. This solemn celebration has gathered a large number of believers, and the lights in the parish church were lit only after the consecration of the altar in which the powers of blessed cardinal Alojzije Stepinac were built in.
In his preaching, the archbishop said that the altar is in every human heart, and that out of it came out evil thoughts and intentions, but also love, nobility, kindness. “The centre of man is the heart, from which man lives and this is actually the first altar to man. Like the altar is the heart of a church, on which the sacrifice of Christ is indirectly shown, we feed from this altar because there comes our redemption”, said cardinal Vinko.
As the Centralna.ba reports, the parish priest rev. Miljenko Džalto took the opportunity to thank all the donors who helped build the new altar, among which were Stipo Frančić, Martin Banović, academic sculptor Ilija Skočibušić and others.
This celebration was preceded by the Novena to St. Joseph, which was led by rev. Željko Marić, rector of the Archdiocese’s seminary Petar Barbarić in Travnik.
The central Mass celebration of the patron saint of the parish will be on March 19th at 11 am, and it will be led by rev. Ljubo Planinić, a parish priest of Kruševo near Mostar.
