On Holy Friday, Holy Mass is not celebrated, but in special worship, Christ's death and  the death which is not Christ's defeat but the manifestation of Jesus’ love to the full is mentioned.

At this liturgical ritual participated: Military Bishop of BiH Msgr. Tomo Vukšić, Auxiliary Bishop of Vrhbosna Msgr. Pero Sudar and numerous priests, nuns, theologians and other believers.

After the procession entered the Presbytery, Cardinal Puljić laid on the floor (prostration) and all others kneeled down in front of the cross covered with a purple cloth and in silence prayed and thought about Christ's torment and death.

The theologians then read the passage on the Suffering servant from the Book of the Prophet Isaiah and the passage from the Epistle to the Hebrews who speaks in the Christ the High Priest who is ”co-sufferer  in our weaknesses” and who is “accustomed to listening” in the suffering.

The words of Jesus were sung by cardinal Puljić, the words of the evangelist were said by the priest Jošt Mezeg, while the other roles were sung by the Theologin’s choir Stjepan Hadrović under the guidance of rev. Marko Stanušić.

After the homily, followed the general prayer consisting of ten invocations, and then revealing of the covered Jesus’ cross and presenting the cross to the gathered community with the words: “Here is the tree of the Cross, on which Saviour of the world was hanging”, and then kissing of the cross.

The last part of the ceremony was the holy communion that was stored on the Holy Thursday on the side altar. After ceremony, believers remained praying at Jesus' grave, and prayers will continue on Holy Saturday until vigil service.
