Traditional interreligious gathering Duh Asiza (Spirit of Assisi), 13th in a row, took place on November 13th in the Zenica parish church of St. Elijah, organized by the Committee for Interreligious Cooperation (OMS) from the City of Steel.
The ceremony began with a procession of religious officials entering the church, among whom, among others, was the archbishop of Vrhbosna in peace, cardinal Vinko Puljić, Mufti of Sarajevo and Chairman of the Assembly of the Inter-Religious Council in BiH (MRV) Dr. Nedžad Grabus, parish priest OFM Marko Kepić and Director of the KŠC Sv. Pavao and the chairman of OMS, rev. Vlatko Rosić.
First, the vocal instrumental group (VIS) Novo nebo, honoured those present with their performance of Sva djela Gospdonja (All acts of God), and then the parish priest OFM Marko and the ambassador of the OSC Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brian Aggeler, spoke. Furthermore, there was a concert by the mixed chamber choir Lola from Sarajevo.
In an appropriate address, the director, rev. Rosić pointed out that the Spirit of Assisi has become a recognizable activity of OMS and emphasized that religious officials are invited to speak about peace and promote it. He expressed his joy that young generations are involved in these activities, and wished that there would be more such meetings in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
After that, Effendi Grabus read the decision on the awarding of the Zenica Charter of Peace as a recognition of all religious communities and the Church of Zenica, cardinal Puljić for all his hard work and decades of work in the Interreligious Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which he participated in founding in 1997.
The evening ended with a performance of VIS Novo nebo.
