The community of believers in Ljubija, not far from Prijedor, celebrated the feast of its heavenly patron St. Leopold Bogdan Mandić.
The Holy Mass was led by the parish priest in Banja Luka and the dean of the Banja Luka Deanery rev. Vladislav Žarko Ošap. The concelebration was attended by five priests, including the Dean of the Prijedor Deanery and the Parish Priest in Prijedor rev. Marko Vidović and the parish priest rev. Zlatko Matić, who is also the manager of the religious community in Ravska.
In his sermon, rev. Žarko presented the biography of St. Leopold. He emphasized that mercy and love for sinners, who were especially recognizable in the sacrament of reconciliation to which this saint gave most of his time, were the path to his holiness. He encouraged those present to “fall in love with Jesus present in the sacraments” and in a special way to discover his love and mercy in holy confessions.
At the end of the Eucharist, the parish priest thanked the benefactors who financed the installation of new carpentry, windows and doors and tiles in the church, as well as the parishioners for their help in organizing the celebration of the patron saint. He then prayed the prayers of St. Leopold.
About 100 believers took part in the celebration, for whom refreshments were prepared after the liturgy.
