Celebrated patron saint of the Military Ordinary in BiH

On Wednesday, October 23rd, Archbishop of Vrhbosna, cardinal Vinko Puljić, in the parish of St. John the Baptist in Tarčin, led a Holy Mass celebration with which the patron saint of the Military Ordinary in BiH - St. John Capistran was celebrated.

Together with the parish priest, rev. Željko Čuturić, six military chaplains have concelebrated in the Eucharist. About 170 members of the BiH Armed Forces, led by Defense Minister Marina Pendeš, participated.

In the homily, the cardinal, reminiscing of the events of the life of St. John Capistran, underlined his willingness to defend the faith from the enemies of Christianity at that time. He then asked those present what was the greatest sanctity in their lives, and emphasized that this is exactly what carries everyone in life. “In order to be able to cope with so many of the challenges that lie ahead, it is necessary, like St. John Capistrano, to build a firm faithful attitude”, the cardinal concluded.

The celebration continued with a joint lunch in the parish courtyard.
