Celebration of the patron saint and 120 years of the parish in Novo Sarajevo

On the feast of the Holy Trinity, June 12th, the religious community in Novo Sarajevo celebrated the patron saint and marked 120 years of existence.

The central Holy Mass, which was broadcast live by Radio Marija BiH, was led by the Vicar General of the Vrhbosna Archdiocese, Msgr. Slađan Ćosić together with nine priests, among whom was the parish priest rev. Dražen Kustura.

In the sermon, Msgr. Ćosić stated that modern man often views others in terms of benefits and thus loses the human and evangelical joy of encounter. Aware that man has lost his sense of God, he said that God never loses his sense of man. Explaining that faith in the Most Holy Trinity is the greatest mystery of Christ’s believers, he spoke about the importance of listening and surrendering to God’s will. In conclusion, he said that the Trinity is an inexhaustible source on which to feed the whole of human existence, daily life, every action and testimony of faith.

The celebration of the Holy Mass was animated by the parish choir led by sister Mirela Ilićić and accompanied by organ maestro Darijo Vučić. After the Mass, there was a gathering in the parish yard.

Believers prepared for the patron saint for three days.

It is worth mentioning that the parish was founded by the servant of God Josip Stadler. The religious community has about 1 800 believers in 950 families
