Parish of St. Aloysius Gonzaga in Pećnik near Modriča in Bosanska Posavina, on June 21st, solemnly celebrated its heavenly patron, and during the Holy Mass one boy received the first communion.
The Eucharistic celebration was led by the parish priest in Gradačac, rev. Marko Hrskanović in the concelebration of anout dozen priests who work pastorally in the surrounding parishes. At the beginning, those present were greeted by the parish priest, rev. Andrija Janjić.
In the appropriate sermon, rev. Hrskanović spoke about the life path of St. Aloysius Gonzaga emphasizing his extraordinary love for God and neighbour. He then explained the role of parents in choosing the vocation of their children and stressed that it is not uncommon for them to oppose their children going the spiritual way.

After the homily, the first communion was received by the boy Antonio Krizan. By the way, this is the first ceremony of the distribution of the first Holy Communion in this parish after 14 years.
The Holy Mass was attended by about 100 believers, and after the Eucharist there was a gathering.
Before the last war, more than 2 000 believers lived in five villages of Pećnik parish, and according to the last house blessing, there are 72 believers in 46 families today. To these should be added about 30 believers who stay in the parish for certain part of the year.
