On the feast of the Annunciation of the Lord, March 25th, the patron saint of the Vrhbosna Theological Seminary (VBS) was celebrated in Sarajevo.
The Holy Mass in the seminary chapel was led by the Archbishop of Vrhbosna, Msgr. Tomo Vukšić. Concelebrating with him there were seven priests, including: the rector of the VBS rev. Zdenko Spajić and the theologian’s spiritual guide rev. Milenko Krešić.
On that occasion, Msgr. Tomo gave the service of acolyte and lectorate to the fifth-year theologian Darko Endrich, and candidacy for deaconry and presbyteriate to Antonijo Jurič, Marko Ljubić and Marin Petrović.
In the sermon, Archbishop Vukšić quoted the words of the late Archbishop of Split Ante Jurić, who often mentioned the motto of St. Benedict: Ora et labora (Work and pray). He pointed out that it is important for the priestly and Christian life to show one’s faith through work. To the famous saying of St. Benedict he also added, often neglected word studio (learn), and encouraged those present to “pray while working, and work while praying.”
After the Holy Mass, socializing continued at the family table.
