The religious community in Vogošća near Sarajevo dedicated to St. Mother Theresa, on September 3rd celebrated the feast of her heavenly patron.
The solemn Holy Mass was celebrated by the director of KŠC Sv. Franjo in Tuzla, rev. Ante Vrhovac with the concelebration of the parish vicar and vice-rector of the Archdiocesan International Missionary Seminary Redemptoris Mater in Vogošća, Don Paulo Henrique dos Santos Coelho, as well as rev. Ante Ljulja, rev. Mirko Ikić and rev. Ivo Jezidžić.
In the sermon, rev. Ante first spoke about the first reading from the Book of the Prophet Jeremiah, how the prophet dares to complain to God and pointed out that, despite everything, in the continuation of the reading, he does not give up his call and service to God. He pointed out that Mother Teresa was in a similar situation, but the answer can be read in her life in the context of suffering and the cross the believer should embrace. "Jesus took our pain on the Cross and remains present with us. Jeremiah did not have that example, but he remained faithful", said rev. Vrhovac and called on those present "to remain faithful to God no matter how much they are in the dark."
Before the final blessing, those present prayed the prayer of St. Mother Teresa, and they could also venerate her relics. The celebration of the patron saint continued with socializing and singing in the courtyard with animation of the seminarians.
By the way, the feast of this saint is September 5th, but for pastoral reasons it is celebrated on the nearest Sunday.
