With the solemn Eucharist on April 3rd in the parish church of St. Joseph’s religious community in Teslić, 100th anniversary of its existence was celebrated.
The Holy Mass was led by the Archbishop of Vrhbosna, Metropolitan Msgr. Tomo Vukšić. Before the beginning of the Holy Mass, parish priest rev. Ivan Ravlić welcomed Msgr. Vukšić and the concelebrants: Vicar General of the VN, Msgr. Slađan Ćosić; Secretary General of the BK BiH Msgr. Ivo Tomašević; parish priests from Žabljak and Bežlja, rev. Bartol Lukić and rev. Ivan Karača and the director of KŠC Sv. Josip from Sarajevo, rev. Marijo Ćosić. Welcoming the faithful, among whom were political representatives from the ranks of the Croatian people, he announced a joyful event for the parish, which is the distribution of the sacrament of confirmation for the young believer Ivona.
In the sermon, Archbishop Vukšić said that they had gathered “for the Eucharistic celebration in the parish of St. Joseph, the self-effacing stepfather of Jesus and the silent fiancé of Our Lady”. Speaking about the anniversary of the community of believers, he recalled all the priests who “have worked in this parish over the past decades and, by celebrating the holy sacraments and proclaiming the Word of God, mediate God's grace and teaching to the people”. “In a special way we remember all the pastors, from the first Ilija to today's Ivan - there were 13 of them, and ten parish vicars who led this people of God”, said Msgr. Tomo and encouraged “to pray in a special way for all the deceased members of this parish community, especially for those who were forcibly deprived of their lives”. He then reminded of the demolished church in 1992, exactly on the 60th anniversary of its construction (1932), and wished that the faithful would never again witness similar sufferings or sacrifice of human malice.
The homily was followed by the rite of confirmation, when Archbishop Tomo gave the sacrament of confirmation to the young believer Ivona. At the end of the Holy Mass, parish priest Ravlić expressed his gratitude and presented the Archbishop with an artistic painting as a gift.
The liturgy was animated by the Cathedral Mixed Choir Josip Stadler under the direction of rev. Marko Stanušić. The Eucharist was broadcast live by Posavska radiotelevizija, and several media houses, including HRT, recorded it on camera.
