In the seminary church of St. Cyril and Methodius in Sarajevo, which also serves the spiritual needs of the faithful of the Military Ordinariate in Bosnia and Herzegovina (VOBiH), on December 13th, a Christmas spiritual renewal and confession for soldiers of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and employees of the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina was held.
Participating were Catholics working with the army in Sarajevo and the surrounding area, that is, from the military chaplaincy of St. John of Capistrano, led by the general vicar of the VoBiH, Msgr. Željko Čuturić, and the chaplaincy of Bl. Ivan Merz, led by Rev. Ivo Jezidžić.
First, as a preparation for the sacrament of reconciliation, the personal secretary of the Archbishop of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Rev. Marin Babić, then there was an opportunity for confession.
The Eucharist was celebrated by the archbishop of Vrhbosna and the apostolic administrator of the VOBiH, Msgr. Tomo Vukšić with the concelebration of the vicar general of the VOBiH, Msgr. Čuturić, chancellor Rev. Josip Tadić and Rev. Jezidžić.
In the homily, Msgr. Vukšić read his Christmas message.
After the Eucharist, a reception was arranged for the participants in the House of Armed Forces, where Major General Ivica Jerkić and Msgr. Vukšić thanked for their hard work and congratulated the soldiers on the upcoming Christmas and New Year.
