Contract on construction of the church of Bl. Drina martyrs

The parish priest of Goražde, rev. Josip Tadić and the representative of the Markan company from Goražde, Armin Marić, signed a contract on June 12th for the construction of the church of Bl. Drina martyrs.

The contract was signed after the City Administration issued a building permit.

As explained by rev. Tadić, the beginning of the work is planned by mid-July at the latest, and the deadline for completion is the memorial day of the Drina Martyrs, December 15th, when the 80th anniversary of their martyrdom will be celebrated.

“This is a great day for all of us, not only for the Vrhbosna Archdiocese and the Catholic community in Goražde. I am happy that we have the support of all the inhabitants of Goražde and I am sure that this will be a new beginning”, said rev. Tadić after signing.

The future complex includes: a museum, a memorial room, a church, a square and an inn to be built near the county institution building, 150 meters from the Drina Martyrs Memorial.

Let us remind, Bl. Drina martyrs were proclaimed blessed ten years ago in Sarajevo’s Zetra during the Eucharist, which was led by the papal envoy and head of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, Cardinal Angelo Amato.
