The parish of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Crkvica, a part of the city Zenica, celebrated its patron saint on December 8th.
The solemn Eucharist was led by the professor at the KBF in Sarajevo, Dr. rev. Ivan Rako. At the beginning, those present were greeted by the parish priest, rev. Anto Dominković.
In his sermon, rev. Rako, referring to the Holy Mass readings, said that God created the world, created everything good, and then pointed out that he made man for direct communion, as evidenced by the first book of the Bible. He further asked where evil came into the world from. “Already the Book of Genesis provides an answer to how evil entered the world through human pride and disobedience. By entering evil into the world, the world moves away from God and from its primeval meaning”, the preacher said and in his second part of homily presented the character of Our Lady who opposed to all that happened to the grandparents. Then he wondered if it was possible to live by Mary’s model today. “The closer a man is to God, the closer he is to man. We see this in Mary. The fact that she is completely with God is the reason she is so close to people (...) In their weakness and sin, everyone can dare to turn to this mother in every need because she understands everything and is open power of creative goodness for everyone”, concluded rev. Rako.
After the Eucharist, the communion continued in front of the church with the playing of the folk carol and physical refreshment.
