On Monday, October 4th, on the feast of St. Francis, the Catholic School Centre of the same name in Tuzla celebrated its Day.
The ceremony began with the installation of an exhibition of children’s works on the theme of St. Francis and by recording a children’s video about School Day.
In the afternoon in the parish church of St. Peter and Paul, Archbishop of Vrhbosna cardinal Vinko Puljić, in the concelebration of 18 priests, among whom were the director of the Tuzla KŠC, rev. Marko Zubak and the guardian, OFM Željko Nikolić, led the Holy Mass. Congratulating the feast of St. Francis, in his homily he spoke of instructiveness and perseverance in the good.
This was followed by a ceremonial academy at the National Theater, where the students of the Gymnasium performed the play The Miracle Worker by Ljubica Ostojić, directed by Ivana Milosavljević.
The Pedagogical Council of Catholic Schools for Europe awarded, and the Cardinal presented the Erich von Brandis Award to the director of the Sv. Franjo Tuzla, Žana Altumbabić, for her great and selfless contribution to the work of the System. Also, as a sign of gratitude to Archbishop Puljić, prof. of Fine Arts Boris Pejić donated his work - a painting of St. Peter.
Along with the directors of the Centres and pastors from the Tuzla area, the ceremony was attended by, among others: the Vicar General of the VN, Msgr. Slađan Ćosić and acting promoter of Catholic education Msgr. Ivica Božinović.
