Day of remembrance of the fall of Bosanski Brod


Day of Remembrance for the victims of the war in Bosanska Posavina, and on the occasion of the 29th anniversary of the fall of Bosanski Brod and most of Bosanska Posavina, was marked on October 6th in Bosanski and Slavonski Brod.

The occasion program, organized by the Association of Volunteers and Veterans of the 101st BBB Brigade of Bosanski Brod and coordinated by associations from the Homeland War of Brod-Posavina County, began with the laying of wreaths and prayer at the memorial at the city cemetery in Bosanski Brod. Then followed, in the church of St. Elijah the prophet in Bosanski Brod, a Holy Mass led by the parish priest rev. Antonio Čutura.

The second part of the program took place in the afternoon in Slavonski Brod, which began with the laying of wreaths at the Memorial to the Fallen and Missing Croatian Veterans. Finally, on the eve of Remembrance Day, 500 lanterns were lit along the city promenade along the Sava River.

Representatives of Homeland War veterans' associations, as well as representatives of various levels of government from BiH and Croatia participated in the all-day program with veterans and relatives of killed and missing soldiers.
