In the concelebration with the Archbishop of Vrhbosna, were: the provincial of the Franciscan Province of Bosna Srebrena OFM Zdravko Dadić, the secretary of the Apostolic Nunciature in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Msgr. Javier Camañes-Forés and about 50 other priests.

The start of the walk

At the beginning, Msgr. Vukšić greeted the concelebrants and the people of God, and in a special way the ordained. "We will pray for all of us gathered here, but most of all for the five of our brothers who are beginning their journey and their service for the purpose of spreading the Word of God and the glory of God, the kingdom of God - as Jesus teaches us in today's Gospel - on this earth and among people", said Msgr. Vukšić leading into the Holy Mass celebration.

This was followed by the presentation of candidates for the order of deacon. For the Archdiocese of Vrhbosna, members of the Neocatechumens Way Mislav Anton Botica, Nilson Gerard Andrada Ibarra and Jesus Antonio Gazquez Hernandez were presented by the Rector of the Archdiocesan Mission International Seminary Redemptoris Mater in Vogošća, Rev. Michele Capasso, while the Master of Theology of the Franciscan Seminary, OFM Danijel Nikolić, presented OFM Hrvoje Žabić and OFM Danijel Lukić for the Franciscan Province of Bosna Srebrena.

The proclamation of the kingdom of God

After that, the archbishop of Vrhbosna delivered an appropriate homily. At the beginning, he recalled how in his preaching, Jesus very often used parables, comparisons and incidents from human life with the intention of making it easier for listeners to explain and approach the important content of his teaching. In this context, he explained that the main idea of Jesus' speech and testimony is the proclamation of the kingdom of God. "Regardless of resistance to the rules of God's kingdom, which exist in the form of weaknesses and temptations in every person and community, the realization of God's kingdom among people is Jesus' desire and man's obligation (...) As a remedy against all possible resistance of this world and man's frequent moral stumbles, in the name of Jesus they should constantly repeat to themselves and others: 'Repent because the kingdom of heaven has come near!' (Mt 4:17)", reminded the archbishop of Vrhbosna and focused on the image of the kingdom of God as a wedding feast. "Conversion is a new state of man. It is first of all a gift of God, a blessing and grace, and only then the event and process of man's exit from bad to good. However, the conversion is not completely completed with the transition to the good, and that is why it does not stop there. Where things are no longer in a bad state, conversion is a transition from good to even better and then the continuation of the process that leads all the way to personal holiness in the community of Jesus' believers, which we call the Church", pointed out Msgr. Vukšić, and reflected on the very meaning of the diaconate.

"They, empowered by the grace of the sacrament of holy orders, serve the people of God in communion with the bishop and his presbytery. It is the duty of the deacon, as entrusted to him by the competent authority, to solemnly distribute the cross, guard and distribute the Eucharist, attend marriages and bless them in the name of the Church, carry encouragement to the dying, read the Holy Scriptures to the faithful, teach and encourage the people, lead worship and the prayers of the faithful, to share blessings and lead the funeral and burial ceremony'", reminded, among others, Msgr. Vukšić.

At the end of the Holy Mass celebration, he gave a short speech of encouragement to the deacons in Croatian and Spanish, and handed out certificates of receiving holy orders.

The Eucharist, after which there was a joint photo shoot with the archbishop and the provincial, was animated by harmonious singing by the choir of Franciscan theologians.
