Epiphany and the anniversary of the Episcopal ordination

With a solemn Mass celebration on January 6th at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was celebrated Epiphany and the Day of Holy Childhood and the anniversary of the bishop's ordination of Archbishop of Vrhbosna, cardinal Vinko Puljić.

The Holy Mass was led by a celebrant in communion with 12 priests.

At the beginning, a congratulatory message to the Cardinal was sent by the Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Vrhbosna, Msgr. Slađan Ćosić. After the proclamation of the Gospel passage, provost of the Vrhbosna capitol msgr. Ante Meštrović read the Epiphany proclamation of Easter for 2020.

Then, in a sermon, the archbishop recalled the Epiphany and commented briefly on its history. He further noted that everyone “has a star that led him to Jesus: to someone it was a mother, to someone the whole family”.

“There were some events with others, when God sent an event into the life that brought them to God”, said cardinal Vinko emphasizing the need to pray for God to touch those “who have hard hearts”.

During the Mass the assistants were the theologians of the Theological Seminary of Vrhbosna , and the liturgical singing was animated by the choir Stjepan Hadrović under the direction of rev. Marko Stanušić.
