Family day in the parish of St. Joseph

Parish of St. Joseph in Zenica, together with the Office for Marriage and Family and the Counselling Centre of the Vrhbosna Archdiocese, organized a Family Day on August 28th on the topic of Family, become/stay what you are!

Throughout the full-day program, family topics from spirituality and psychological-pedagogical perspective were covered.

After the welcome of the parish priest, rev. Davor Topić was followed by a lecture by rev. Ante Vrhovec, who in his presentation entitled There is no Church without spouses, spoke about what distinguishes a Christian marriage from any other. The second lecture was given by Dr. Sanda Smoljo-Dobrovoljski. From a psychological-pedagogical perspective, she highlighted the natural dynamics and processes that can encourage or block the authentic living of sacramental marriage.

In the afternoon, workshops were organized under the guidance of a married couple from Sarajevo - psychiatrist Dr. Sabina and psychologist Stanislav Stjepić - on the topic: Communication with an emphasis on listening and the need to nurture a relationship in marriage. In addition, a special catechetical and sports program was organized for the children, led by animators under the direction of sister Gabrijela Hrgić, OSU.

The highlight of the day was the Eucharist led by parish priest Topić.
