In the parish of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Klopče, near Zenica, on Sunday, September 22nd, during the Holy Mass, a new parish administrator, rev. Vlatko Rosić, director of KŠC "Sv. Pavao", was introduced in to the service, and there was a farewell to the Dominicans who are leaving the Vrhbosna Archdiocese after almost 50 years.
The Eucharistic celebration was led by the Archbishop of Vrhbosna, Metropolitan Msgr. Tomo Vukšić in concelebration with seven priests, among whom were: Provincial of the Croatian Dominican Province father Tomislav Kraljević, vicar general of the VN, Msgr. Slađan Ćosić, dean of the Žepče deanery rev. Predrag Stojčević, former parish priest in Klopče father Mirko Jagnjić and the newly appointed parish manager, rev. Vlatko Rosić.
At the beginning of the Holy Mass father Mirko greeted those present in the church, which was followed by the ceremony of introducing the new parish administrator, rev. Rosić into service.
The special sermon was delivered by the provincial father Tomislav. First of all, he thought about the truth and emphasized that those who call themselves believers of Christ, who said of himself that he is the way, the truth and the life, must never keep silent about the truth. "The truth should be told, not hidden. The truth was created to be published, just as light was created to shine", said the preacher and noted that even with truths there is a kind of hierarchy and that some are more important than others. Referring to the Gospel passage that was read that day, he said that it can be understood as the penetration of truth into the world and that Jesus' revelation of his suffering should be viewed in the light of faith in resurrection and life. He warned that even today Jesus' disciples, like the apostles, can fall into temptation and ask who is the greatest? "The infinite, merciful love of God does not allow the mediocrity of human calculations to stop it. "God's love goes further despite our mediocrity", said the Dominican provincial and pointed to human dependence on God and understanding of the various gifts that come from him. "This parish was also a gift to us Dominicans. A gift from God that we humbly and gratefully received. The gift that we are handing over today to the administration of the archdiocese and to the new parish priest, because the time has come, our strength is leaving us, but we are again joyful and grateful to God for all that has been and has been sown in this parish. Today, let's thank God for everything, all together, for the service of the Dominican brothers in this parish of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, on the truth of the Cross that is not hidden but announced in convenient and inconvenient times, in joy and sorrow, in peace and war. Today, let's all give thanks together for serving the gospel - the good news that God gave his son so that we could receive him as a gift and pledge of eternal life. Let's give thanks for the walk together in this Vrhbosna archdiocese, where we talked about the gift of the cross of Christ that leads us to resurrection and new life", concluded father Tomislav.
At the end of the Holy Mass, which was animated by the singing of the parish choir, words of thanks to the Dominican fathers for their service in the last decades in the Klopče parish, the Zenica region and the Vrhbosna archdiocese were also said by Archbishop Vukšić.
It is worth pointing out that the competent authorities of the Croatian Dominican Province made a decision to withdraw the Dominican Father from Klopče parish and returned the parish to the management of the Vrhbosna Archdiocese. The administrative handover took place on Saturday, September 21st.
By the way, it was the only place in Bosnia and Herzegovina where the Dominicans were active. The parish itself was founded in 1975, and the construction of the church began in 1982. It was consecrated on September 15th 2007.
