Holy Mass began with a procession, and 11 priests concelebrated with the cardinal, including the rector of the Vrhbosna Chapter, Msgr. Ante Meštrović and the rectors of theological seminaries in Sarajevo and Vogošća - venerable Zdenko Spajić and venerable Michele Capasso.

Liturgical singing was led by rev. Marko Stanušić, music professor at the Sarajevo Catholic Theological Faculty, with whom mostly nuns at the service in Sarajevo and theologians from Vogošća sang.

At the beginning, those present, under a tent prepared by the Cemetary Administration that serves as a place of worship, were greeted by the parish priest venerable Mato Majić, cathedral pastor and dean of the Sarajevo deanery.

At the end of the Holy Mass celebration, after the Cardinal prayed prayer for the dead, the cathedral parish priest addressed the audience once again and thanked them for the Eucharistic communion.
