Golden Mass of Dr. Msgr. Pero Aračić


Dr. Msgr. Pero Aračić, a priest of the Diocese of Đakovo-Osijek, celebrated his golden mass on September 21st at the crowded parish church of the Holy Spirit in Slavonski Brod. Under the motto Of Christ, with Christ, and in Christ, the priest Aračić led the celebration with Archbishop Msgr. Đuro Hranić, Auxiliary bishop Msgr. Ivan Ćurić and about 50 priests from Croatia and abroad.

The appropriate homily was said by Archbishop Hranić, who emphasized that piety, love for his own people and moral faithfulness of the priest celebrating were unquestionable and crystal clear.

Congratulating the celebrating priest at the end of the Mass, parish priest Florian Kvetek emphasized that this was a great event for the parish, in the deanery recognized by its many spiritual vocations.

Aračić thanked the dear God for the gift of his life - 75 years and 50 years of priestly service, for every person he met in his life, and especially for his late parents.

The parish choir led by Alenka Martinović magnified the mass and the celebration continued with a joint lunch.

Msgr. Aračić was born in the village Grk, Bosanski Brod municipality. He attended school in Slavonski Brod, Zagreb and Đakovo, where he graduated in 1963. He completed his philosophical and theological studies in Đakovo, where he was ordained a priest in 1969. He received his doctorate in pastoral theology from the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome in 1979.

He is the author of numerous articles in the field of pastoral theology, leader and member of international projects related to pastoral theology.
