Half a century of the parish of St. Joseph

Parish of St. Joseph in Vinjani celebrated its patron saint and the 50th anniversary of its founding on March 19th.

The solemn Holy Mass was celebrated by a Carmelite from the monastery of St. Elijah on Buško Lake, Father Zvonko Martić. At the beginning of the Eucharist, the parish priest rev. Joko Blažević greeted those present, followed by a procession with a statue of St. Joseph around the church with the litany prayer to the outer statue of this saint where the consecration prayer was prayed.

In his homily, Father Zvonko spoke about St. Joseph as a role model and a great righteous man, but also an advocate with God “for our needs and the needs of the parish community and the entire Croatian people”. “Joseph fulfilled his task responsibly. There is never a life of faith without difficulties and trials, because the trial of faith gives birth to perseverance and proves that we are responsible and ready to receive the gifts that God gives us”, said, among other things, the preacher.

The liturgy was animated by the parish choir, and the Holy Mass was broadcast live on Radio Posušje.

The Eucharist was followed by socialising.

As has been the custom for years, the community of believers has been preparing for the celebration of the patron saint through the great novena every Wednesday, as well as every day for nine days before the feast.
