He witnessed God’s love and was proud of it

On October 18th, the Catholic community in Sarajevo’s Novi Grad celebrated the feast of its heavenly patron, St. Luke the Evangelist.

The Holy Mass in the evening was celebrated by the Archbishop Coadjutor of Vrhbosna, Msgr. Tomo Vukšić in concelebration with six priests, among whom was the parish priest rev. Željko Vlajić.

In the homily, Msgr. Vukšić reminded that the content of Luke’s proclamation was the joy of God’s love for the poor and that he laid down his life for the faith, so the Church honours him as a martyr. “We should imitate him and in the freedom of our conscience and life faithfully follow Christ and be preachers of the salvation of all people”, said Msgr. Tomo.

At the end of the Holy Mass, a member of the Parish Pastoral Council, Mario Andrić, presented Archbishop Vukšić with a special gift, followed by a gathering.

The Eucharist was celebrated in the morning by the Vicar General of the Vrhbosna Archdiocese, Msgr. Slađan Ćosić in concelebration with seven priests.

By the way, this religious community was founded in 1996, and today it has about 1 500 believers. Work is underway to erect a facade on the church, which should be completed by Christmas this year.
