Holy Mass celebration at the Bare cemetery


The Eucharist at the Sarajevo cemetery in Bare on November 2nd, on All Souls' Day, was led by the Archbishop Coadjutor of Vrhbosna, Msgr. Tomo Vukšić.

Concelebrating with him, were 11 priests, including the Provincial of Bosna Srebrena, OFM Jozo Marinčić and the parish priest of the religious community of St. Joseph - Marijin Dvor, on whose territory the cemetery is located, Msgr. Anto Ćosić.

In the appropriate sermon, Msgr. Vukšić pointed out that “our gatherings in cemeteries anywhere in the world are not led by the cause of death, but by faith and hope in the resurrection”. “In our faith, death appears as a transient phase, in fact, as much as we call it death, it is in accordance with the teachings of Scripture and in accordance with the texts and prayers we have said and prayed here, calling it ‘sleep’, not death”, said. Msgr. Vukšić and pointed out that “we are gathered in cemeteries by faith in the resurrection”.

The liturgy was animated by the singing of the cathedral mixed choir Josip Stadler, and about 100 believers were present.

At the end of the Holy Mass, Msgr. Vukšić prayed a prayer of absolution for the deceased.
