In the parish of St. Joseph in Zenica on January 19th, Secretary General of the BK BiH Msgr. Ivo Tomašević led the Eucharist on the occasion of the opening of the great novena to meet the celebration of the patron saint of this religious community.
In concelebration with him were the parish priest rev. Davor Topić and the director of KŠC Sv. Pavao rev. Vlatko Rosić.
In a sermon on the subject of the Election, which was based on the consideration of St. John Paul II from the Apostolic Exhortation Guardian of the Redeemer, Msgr. Tomašević reminded that the exhortation is actually a letter in which the Pope wants to encourage the Church. “We look at Joseph’s role throughout the history of salvation, as the keeper of the Redeemer. History is not a coincidence. God leads history and God’s power extends through human history. And we want to look at our lives through this history of God's 'election'”, said Msgr. Tomašević, pointing out that a man who listens to God is a free man. He encouraged those present to influence the intercession of St. Joseph “who brings our lives closer to God”.
After the communion prayer, litanies were prayed in front of the statue of this saint. The parish choir under the direction of sister Gabrijela Hrgić sang during the Holy Mass.
By the way, the motto of the novena is Let’s go to Joseph.
