Invocation of the Holy Spirit on the occasion of the new academic year

At the Mostar Cathedral of Mary Mother of Church on October 10th, commemorating the beginning of the new academic year, the Eucharistic celebration and invocation of the Holy Spirit was led by the Bishop of Mostar-Duvno and the Apostolic warden of Trebinje-Mrkan, Msgr. Dr. Ratko Perić.

In concelebration were the Academic Youth Commissioner rev. Mladen Šutalo, parish priest of the parish of St. John, and rev. Marko Šutalo, head of the Theological-catechetical institute in Mostar.

At the beginning of the Mass, Katja Krolo-Šarac sang the hymn to the Holy Spirit.

In his sermon, Bishop Perić spoke about the thoughts of two famous scientists, physicists and our contemporaries about the beginning of the world. One is Vuko Brigljević and the other is Ivica Puljak. Reading their reflections, the bishop noted that an atheistic approach to the idea of creating the world is equal to the fact that “thousands of drivers were to sit in cars and blindfolded drive to destinations in other cities without traffic accidents”.

The celebration was animated by the choir of the FPMOZ Study of Music Art with the guidance and organ accompaniment of prof. Krolo-Šarac.

Before the final blessing, rev. Mladen thanked the leader and those who attended the mass.
