Marked 26th year since the crime against Croats

On January 9th, the Holy Mass at the Topala Cemetery near Vitez marked the 26th anniversary of the war crimes committed by the BiH Army in Buhine Kuće, when 36 civilians and HVO members were killed.

The Holy Mass for the dead was led by the parish priest of Vitez, OFM Velimir Bavrka.

“All anniversaries should be the place of our meetings, not some clashes, because it is actually a meeting place with our past. It is a meeting place with many who have suffered, given not only their lives, but also their future offspring for the freedom of us all”, said among other things, in his homily OFM Velimir.

During the Holy Mass, the names of those killed, were read by Marijana Vidović, and shortly before the beginning of the Eucharist, wreaths and candles were laid on the memorial in the Topala Cemetery.

On the same day, in Vitez, a Round table on the topic of Unpunished Crime in Buhine Kuće was organized by the Associations that came out of the Homeland War of HVO.

Let us remind: while the wounds caused by the horrific crime committed in Krizančevo Selo (December 22nd 1993.) were fresh, only 18 days later, several hundred meters east, on January 9th 1994., a new crime was committed against Croats in the completely besieged and blocked Lašva Valley for which no one was ever found responsible.
