On the occasion of marking the 17th anniversary of the founding of the 1st Infantry Regiment of the Army Forces of BiH and the 30th anniversary of the Croatian Defense Council, and in memory of the dead and deceased members of these units, military delegations of the Ministry of Defense and the BiH Armed Forces laid wreaths and lit candles on April 6th at memorials in: Sarajevo, Vitez, Tomislavgrad and Orašje.
In the morning, on April 6th, wreaths were laid and prayers were held at the Catholic cemetery of St. Joseph in Sarajevo. The organizers were: the 1st Infantry (Guards) Regiment of the BiH Armed Forces and the HVO Veterans’ Associations from the capital.
Then in the seminary church of St. Cyril and Methodius, also used by soldiers stationed in Sarajevo, Holy Mass for the dead and deceased members of the HVO was served. The Eucharist was led by the Archbishop of Vrhbosna, Metropolitan and Apostolic Administrator of the Military Ordinariate in BiH, Msgr. Tomo Vukšić. Concelebrated by: Vicar General of the Military Ordinariate Msgr. Željko Čuturić and the military chaplain rev. Ivo Jezidžić.
This was also a spiritual preparation for Easter, and the soldiers had several priests at their disposal for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
