Marking the anniversary of the founding of the HVO


On the occasion of marking the 16th anniversary of the founding of the 1st Infantry (Guards) Regiment of the Armed Forces of BiH and the 29th anniversary of the founding of the Croatian Defense Council (HVO), a delegation of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of BiH laid wreaths on April 7th at the Catholic Cemetery Sv. Josip in Sarajevo.

The delegation was led by BiH Deputy Minister of Defense for Politics and Plans Mijo Krešić and Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff of the BiH Armed Forces for Operations, Major General Ivica Jerkić. The wreaths were also laid by the delegation of the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in BiH with the military envoy of the Republic of Croatia to BiH Brigadier Davor Kiralj, representatives of the Ministry of Veterans of Sarajevo County, veterans' associations, the Croatian National Assembly and other guests from socio-political life.

After that, in the church of St. Cyril and Methodius Holy Mass was served for the killed and deceased veterans, which was led by the Chief Chaplain in the BiH Armed Forces, venerable Željko Čuturić in concelebration with the military chaplain rev. Ivo Jezidžić.
